WFMW – Cooking for the freezer

I know it doesn’t work for everyone, but for me having a freezer full of ‘frozen assets’ is a life-saver. So much so we installed a second freezer over Christmas, and I’m having great fun planning how to stock it up.

 As well as a good supply of frozen veggies, bread and meat, I like to cook or at least pre-assember meals for the freezer. Some of my staples are:

 – chilli con carne

– spaghetti bolognese

– hamburger patties


– marinated stir-fry chicken and beef

– beef madras curry

 I find that it is really worth forking out a few extra cents for good quality freezer bags, and you must must must label everything that goes in the freezer! Its amazing how much curry can look like bolognaise after a month in the freezer … which can result in some odd combination. Spaghetti madras anyone?
